| Peter Locke comes from Newcastle upon
Tyne, where he held organ-playing posts from the age of 13. He studied
at Birmingham Conservatoire, gaining the degrees of BMus and MA in
performance studies, and also at the University of Durham, from where
he gained his school teaching certificate. Whilst at Birmingham he
was also Assistant Organist at St. Chad's Cathedral - his appointment
there coinciding with the installation of the widely acclaimed Walker
organ. |
| |
| Peter currently combines teaching on Tyneside with
organ-playing at Saint Dominic's Priory, Newcastle, where he continues
to bring the historic 1883 Willis organ to increasing recognition.
His recital work has taken him throughout the UK, as well as to Germany,
Poland, Hungary and the United States of America. |
