Alexander Fishburn (Assistant Organist Bromley Parish Church).
Alexwas born in Lancashire in 1996. His musical interests began at the age of 4 when he began to play the piano with local organist Carol Wearing. Alex sang with his parents at St James with St Thomas, Poolstock where his interest in the organ was encouraged by the Choirmaster. At the age of seven, Alex began a five year period as a chorister in the choir of Durham Cathedral, where in his final year he began organ lessons with James Lancelot.
After his time at Durham, Alex completed his studies to GCSE level at home in Wigan, before studying for two years with Christopher Stokes, at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. During this time he was Assistant Organist at All Saints’ Parish Church, Wigan. He is now in his first year as a student at the Royal College of Music in South Kensington, studying with Margaret Phillips.
Alex was appointed Assistant Organist at Bromley Parish Church in January 2015. Previous recitals include Rochdale Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral and Leigh Parish Church.
